Not true, it was well documented early on that Kraken and other white hat hackers have been able to exploit the Trezor wallet with enough brute force and some tricks:

While I am uncomfortable with Ledger's recovery feature as well and exploring other options for Bitcoin cold storage (ColdCard, anyone?), the hack of their customer information database from Shopify is not comparable to leaking the seed phrases from the secure elements of the hardware wallet.
